Yesterday, on the Anti-Racist Parent blog, columnist Tiffany Pridgen asked why aren't black women breastfeeding. One reason is because breastfeeding has truly become a lost art in the black community. Black mothers simply do not see their friends and family feeding their babies naturally anymore. It is my mission to help change that.I would like to introduce you to breastfeedinig mama, Angelica and her 11 1/2-month-old son. Angelica says,
I'm a mother of 2 and currently breastfeeding my 11 and a half month old son (which is why we are up this time of morning). I am an elementary school teacher who exclusively breastfed my son despite working 7-4 each day." Editor's Note: She sent these pictures at 4:24 AM this morning. I fondly remember those early morning feedings.
