The Black Breastfeeding Blog was created by Jennifer James as a way to reach black mothers who are currently breastfeeding or who want to breastfeed in the future. As a former breastfeeding mother of two daughters (who she breastfed for two years each), Jennifer believes in the powerful healing properties of breast milk and believes all black moms should at least start the nursing process to increase the health of their babies.

Breastfeeding Conversations

It's a pretty light blogging day for me today. You can catch me at Mothering.com where there is a hearty debate I started (accidentally, actually) about the history of breastfeeding in public. Although there are some good points that argue against mine, I'm still not convinced. So, I'll be there throwing out further points to bolster my stance.

Plus, my article at Capessa.com is drawing the usual arguments about breastfeeding and bottle-feeding. Funny, hardly any of the comments actually address what I wrote. But, at least people are talking.

See you tomorrow.

That MDC debate is so fascinating, Jennifer. I keep getting pulled in, and I keep mulling over what life must have been life for different nursing mothers in different time periods (and different countries)... Thanks for starting it (albeit accidentally)! :)
