Sophie Currier can now legally have extra break time to pump breast milk while she takes her final exam to become a doctor. Truthfully, I didn't think it would happen, and even more truthfully I didn't know if getting more time would be fair to her peers. But the Appeals Court Judge, Gary Katzmann, overturned last week's ruling by writing, "Under either avenue, (Currier) is placed at significant disadvantage in comparison to her peers." Hi read today that the NBME are still going to fight this, which is to be expected. I hope she passes this time because if she didn't -- oh my -- wouldn't look good.
