My
Angel

It's morning.
I am awakened first by a babbling sound
followed by laughter.
Then a touch.
A small yet steady hand
Tugging on the covers.
I smile as I am reminded,
What use to be two is now three.
What use to be countless hours of deep
dream-filled sleep,
Has quickly slipped away.
I muster up my strength,
Lift him into my arms and over my body into
the center of our bed where this small angel meticulously positions
himself.
I gaze at him with such delight and as a part
of my body hangs off the bed I think,
Oh, how life has changed since you came into
our lives.
We are truly blessed…
What a gift…
Our very own Angel.
